Biography

Jack Sparagowski is a former police officer, polygraph examiner and criminal investigator who began his career in the field of employee theft in the mid 1970’s.

He began conducting polygraph tests and investigations for oil companies that had been experiencing significant amounts of loss at their retail stations and terminals. After successfully identifying and obtaining indictments against many of these culprits, Mr. Sparagowski developed a national reputation for his expertise and knowledge of employee theft.

In addition to his investigative work, Mr. Sparagowski began conducting seminars on the topic of employee theft. These seminars were attended by individuals from many different industries, indicating the employee theft problem was a universal issue. As a result of these seminars and his ability to identify theft within the workplace, he became a well known investigator who was frequently called upon to conduct major investigations when circumstances suggested a loss was likely attributable to an internal source.

Jack Sparagowski has spent virtually his entire investigative career working  exclusively on employee theft related cases. As a result of his experience, he is considered by many to be the country’s foremost authority on the topic of employee theft. He has conducted literally hundreds of investigations for companies as large as Exxon/Mobil and as small as the neighborhood convenience store. He has also consulted for dozens of companies in different industries assisting them with their inventory, cash and internal controls.

His years of "in the field" experience have given him a unique insight into the world of employee theft and his understanding of how dishonest employees think and behave is astounding. The kind of knowledge he has accumulated could only be gained by someone who has interviewed and interrogated hundreds of employees who have admitted their guilt and openly discussed their dishonest activities.

Mr. Sparagowski was a practicing polygraph examiner for about 15 years and has written 3 books on the topic of employee theft. He has conducted hundreds of seminars and management conferences on internal theft throughout the United States, Australia, Canada and parts of Europe.

He also writes a monthly newsletter called The Sparagowski Report. It is the only online newsletter devoted exclusively to the topic of employee theft and is distributed with the intent of helping companies prevent, control and reduce their internal shrinkage problems. He also conducts online employee theft webinars for subscribers to his newsletter.
